We got nearly betrayed by this Doris Miller, who offered an exceptionally cheap apartment in downtown Jerusalem. We even had phone conversations with “her” “laywer” in Nigeria, maybe the origin off all this Doris Miller scam… Anyways, people, it is frustrating to see, how meticulously planned these individuals proceed, as you can see in some of the mails this apparent criminal sent to us:

Hello, all,
I have a new scammer: Mark Combe, or Cohen, who advertises a one bedrm furnished flat in Paris for 700 E, refuses to provide photos or exact location. Says he, wife and child are in Africa for work purposes and wants money sent upon which he´ll send contract, keys, etc. which he has with him in Africa. His second e-mail lowered the price to 600 E. Still no photos or location provided. Obviously a scam. He then called and when I said I´d sent him an e-mail changing my mind he hung up…FAST!

Beware of “Peter Brooks”, a new name for apartment fraud. The posted email address on Craigslist was qedscotland@googlemail.com. The poster asked to be sent 150 euros to have the keys sent from the UK to Istanbul, and gave the whole “please only take care of the flat that belonged to my late father” line. Also said they were a teacher of French and Spanish in the UK. I actually speak Spanish and so tested my theory that this was a scam by writing in Spanish. THIS PERSON IS A SCAMMER. No doubt in my mind.
