I am sorry to add to the list of scammers on Paris Craigslist, but I am trying to find a flat to rent there for the next year and I almost sent money to one of the three scammers I encountered.  I knew the deals seemed too good to be true, but I was hoping I had just gotten lucky.  DO NOT BELIEVE THE WEST AFRICA SCAMS!!!  Also, in Paris, a flat of 30 sq. meters goes for like 900 Euros/month, so when you read about anything that’s like 70 sq. meters or more in size and goes for 450 to 600 Euros a month, that is a huge red flag.  I’ve also noticed these scammers use gmail addresses frequently and they’re all claiming to work on a mission of some sort in West Africa.  If the pictures of the apartment look like they are from a magazine, they are!  It’s ridiculous.  Read below. BE SAFE AND AVOID ADS LIKE THESE!!!:

 

 

Hi,I got your mail regards to my apartment for rent, is available for  rent anytime you are ready..Before weProceed what really happen is that,i am not giving my apartment out because of money but because of my tranfer to west africa for work..I am Constrcting Supervisor under Constructing Company,you can view the site atwww.pcl.com but i have just been transfer to Reynolds Construction CompanyNigeria Ltd,you can as well also view site at goliath.ecnext.com…I left thecountry with hope that i will be coming back in 2 month’s time,but right nowthe company have told me to stay for 2 years under contract with them,so
thats why i have made up my mind to put up my apartment for rent to whom
ever that will take good care of it..And i will be coming once in a while to check
on my apartment..So Please if  you are really interested get back to me for more
information,Also how long do you intend to stay????…Please respond to me as
soon as possible.

Actually I resided in the house with my family with my wife and my only daughter before and presently we had packed due to my transfer from my working place and now situated in  new jersey, and presently my house is still available for rent for 600euros per month including the utilities like hydro, washer and security, it is furnished.

 

I went for a Crusade in West Africa and I will like you to get in touch with my wife in 

Texas, USA for more discussion, as she is with the keys and the document to the 

house. we’re kind and honest family & respectful people and also spent a lot on our 

property that we want to give you for rent, I will solicit your absolute maintenance of 

this house and want you to treat it as your own, if it’s taken by you, money is not the 

main problem but want you to keep it tidy all the time so that I will be glad to see it 

neat when I come for a check up. I also want trust in you as I always stand on my word.
